This week, we opened a Christmas card from Eddie (AKA Lowrider), one of the men we’ve been reaching out to through our ministry at the EC Brook Correctional Facility in Muskegon. This card is a beautiful reminder that the work we are doing, together as Fearless Followers, at the prison is making a huge difference in the lives of the men and their families:
I also wanted to share the words from Pastor Ren Broekhuizen. Ren was among the group of Fearless Followers who went into the prison last week to minister to the men with a special Christmas service:
Dear Jesus. Give us the heart-purity and heart-certainty of an Eddie. He looks at us as if we are special and doesn’t realize how we yearn for the simplicity of his faith and his uncomplicated acceptance of You. Please, through your Holy Spirit, continue to refine us so that we may serve You with a whole heart. We really want to give You every bit of the glory. We are Yours, bought by Your precious blood.Use us as You will–towards the praise of our Heavenly Father.
