In Training

Dear Fearless Followers,

Recently, I heard a story of an In Training relationship that is happening in our Fearless Churches.  It represents exactly what I pray will be happening in each of our churches and all over our community.

When the concept of discipleship was introduced last year at church I was so excited! I’ve been involved with a evangelistic bible study for over 30 years. But… Never 1:1 with just one other woman. The thought really intrigued me and I prayed about who I could ask. This was a little more intimidating than I thought it would be.

I decided to ask Wendy, who I work with, so I got up the courage to ask her a few months ago if she would want to meet with me to do this discipleship thing together. She actually had wanted to do it when she heard the message! That was such a relief and an answer to my prayer!

Wendy and myself get together at Biggby coffee usually every other Tuesday before she goes to work. When we first started to meet we simply got to know each other. Now we have been going through a book together, “The good and beautiful God.” It has been awesome! We have challenged each other to write 10 blessings every day as the author recommended. What a great thing to do, I would challenge anyone to do this!

Wendy and her husband were baptized on Easter Sunday. This was an amazing experience that we could share with them and celebrate God’s grace and goodness in their life. I have learned so much from being in this 1:1 relationship. I speak for both of us when I say how much we enjoy our hour together! We pray for each other and really can share what is on our heart. Wendy is a huge blessing in my life and I’m so thankful that our church is passionate about discipleship.  — Diana

It is just that simple!  Would you begin praying about stepping into an intentional relationship with another person.  Begin praying about who you will approach, ask the person to meet and do the ask.  Visit here for more information on how to get started — https://fearlessfollower.org/intraining/.

I promise, you will be glad you did!  God created us to be in community with each other, this may just change your life.

Run the Race,

Mick Knoll
