Kids On Mission

The next generation of Fearless Followers has been learning about generosity, loving their neighbors, and what it means to live on mission. Check out these highlights from each of our churches!

Throughout the Fearless Family of Churches, our kids are learning how to live on mission. Our goal is to teach kids that, at any age, they CAN make a difference – and they have responded in big ways!

Kids from Third Coast recently had the great opportunity to bless others with their beautiful smiles and warm company when they enjoyed an afternoon of arts and crafts with the residents of Douglas Cove Rehabilitation Center. For some of the members, hearing a child’s laughter and seeing a child’s smiling face is the highlight of their day. Coast Kids are encouraged to share the love of Jesus with everyone, including seniors in our community. Thank you, Coast Kids families, for encouraging your kids to love and to be kind to others.

Cultivate Kids are learning what it means to be generous and to love their neighbors well. For the month of March, we are asking our kids to serve their community by bringing in yarn to donate. A group of women from Cultivate leads a jail ministry where they regularly go and pray with women who are in jail. The women who are in jail knit blankets and donate them to nursing homes, but they need more yarn! Our kids providing yarn will impact the community in two ways because they will first bless the jail ministry, and then in turn the nursing homes where the blankets are donated!

At Ridge Point, kids were challenged to collect coins to help support Castrol N’Gambi, a child that is sponsored by Ridge Kids. That same week, one of our 2nd graders sold his Nintendo Switch video game and wanted to bring $50 to give to Castrol! $50 may not seem like much, but to a 7-year-old boy? That is a LOT of money. Money he could have spent on another game, snacks, toys, anything, but, instead, this little boy showed a true act of generosity and love for another child that he doesn’t even know. One month of sponsorship is $43, so his gift pays to sponsor Castrol for more than a month.

There is so much that we can learn from this one act of a child: joyful giving, generosity, sacrifice, humbleness, trust, and so much more, but, mostly, we can see the love of Jesus that is growing and welling up in our children. It is just pouring out of them!
