Late 2019 The Fearless Family of Churches made the decision to begin a Missional Partnership with Paradise Bound Ministries (PBM). Soon after, we entered into a partnership with PBM to adopt the Village of Cambacol, Guatemala over a period of 10 years. Financial support is being raised through our annual Reach and Restore Campaigns.
In February 2020, I traveled with a Fearless Family/PBM short-term mission team to Guatemala and built homes for 3 strategically chosen families in this village. PBM’s model follow’s Jesus’ ministry of ‘giving a cup of cold water’ and sharing the gospel. We did just that. Our team painted pictures and Bible verses on the interior walls of each of these homes. We presented housewarming gifts and shared our individual “Jesus’ stories”. Each of these 3 Guatemalan families made the decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
In February 2021, Maria, a resident in the Village of Cambacol, dreamt that she needed to check on her friend, Eulaio as she hadn’t seen him in a while. Feeling led by God, she encouraged a small group of believers to go with her. This lonely man, who had given his heart to God, offered his home as a place to meet to study God’s word. This act of obedience sparked many others to join them.
The pandemic has changed so many things within our lives, including the way we experience church. When we gather together (in person) with a body of believers, we are blessed with the opportunity to love, serve, comfort, and build up other Christ-Followers. We were not meant to live this life on our own. God lovingly set us apart as believers. HE has given us each other, to encourage one another in our faith and remind each other of who God is and all that HE has promised.
I hope this story brings you joy and encouragement today. So many of you have poured yourselves out in Prayer for the people of Cambalcol, and it is exciting to see the Eternal fruit that endures.
