Start Your Day in the Word with the Bible Recap

I have found that the older I get, the busier I seem to be. Maybe you can relate to this? I’ve easily accumulated more responsibilities, more commitments on my calendar, and more situations that seem to need my immediate attention. Although having things to accomplish can sometimes provide a sense of fulfillment, I have to remind myself that we are “human beings” and not “human doings.”

God is not impressed with our adequacy, full schedules, time management skills, or lack thereof. Jesus DID NOT say, “Be sure to fill up all of your time with as many tasks as possible before it’s too late! Tomorrow is coming quickly, so you better move faster! You’ve got room in your schedule, so fill it up!” No. Instead, Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:33-34)

Busyness can be a very dangerous road to wander on, and I have to constantly remind myself that although Jesus may have been a busy man doing great ministry here on earth, He never did so without first seeking the Father. That’s why I’m encouraging you to join me each day in reading your Bible and making it a habit in your life. Make it a priority and create a new discipline before you do anything else to start your day. Out of all daily Bible reading plans I have done, I’ve enjoyed The Bible Recap the most. Between the reading structure and the podcast (hosted on Apple and Youtube), it takes only 20 minutes of your entire day! There’s no excuse not to be in God’s word, and I hope that by joining me in this practice, your heart and mind will be set on the Father before you head out the door! Start day #1 TODAY, and let’s do this!
